Blistered paint needs more than a band-aid

Blisters are painful, unattractive and take a long time to heal. Well, your house feels the same way.
What may look like a surface problem could actually be a deeper issue with your exterior house paint job?
Read below for expert advice as to why the paint on your home is blistering or showing signs of ‘damage'
and what you can do about it.

Where a bad paint finish comes from and how to avoid it

Blistering, cracking or peeling is what happens when the topcoat of paint loses adherence or parts-ways with the coats beneath it. Sometimes the topcoat can even take multiple coats of paint off with it, exposing the bare timber beneath. Rather than looking to remedy an unsightly problem, our focus must always be on the cause of the trouble. What caused the surface to bubble, blister, peel or crack in the first place?

These surface perturbations may appear suddenly, or they may occur gradually over the course of many months or years. Have a read below for the dangers that can cause blistering as well as the solutions that can take place to stop it. We will be releasing a new danger weekly - So stay tuned.
