Properties Composition

In contrast with the number of period homes around the area, this property has had major renovations in years past and is now very much an architectural designed home. The front entrance is at street level with 3 flights of stairs internally to various living areas. It also houses a lift to each level or to the swimming pool on the ground floor.

Its contemporary design embodies today’s sophistication and yet at the same time is minimal and simplistic. The property exudes ‘rule breaking’ which is seen throughout its contemporary construction, unlimited use of materials, large glass windows and ranch sliders.

A strong emphasis on line and form, two essentials of good design, gives this contemporary home style and energy. These rooms are designed with abundant open spaces and natural light in mind making them feel airy and expansive. Its simplified style and design elements, with Geometric shapes, are complemented with an all-white décor and feature wallpapers throughout.

Processes, Products and Paints

Prior to starting, all interior surfaces were dusted and vacuumed to eliminate contamination and dust particles from being deposited onto and/or into paint and surfaces being painted.

The walls were coated with Resene ‘Wallboard sealer’ and finished with 2 topcoats of Dulux ‘Wash and wear’. All Interior doors were finished in Resene ‘Lustacryl’.

Sophisticated Neutrals

In theme with any contemporary design, cream, white, tan, beige and black were used and were tied together with charcoal carpets.

Open Space

The Contemporary use of colour celebrates what isn't there as much as what is. The empty and open space in each room allows for the use of large-scale furnishings, art and accents.

Minimal Accessories

Everything about this interior, colour, style, materials, adds drama without detracting from its streamlined feel.
